Extraterrestrial Life on Mars: Research

* Life on Mars has long been speculated in science fiction and fact * There has been evidence that running water has existed on Mars before indicated by the liquid brines found in shallow martian soil as well as dried up river beds, polar ice caps, volcanoes and minerals that form in bodies of water.
* Where there is water, there is life, and that water needed an atmosphere of CO2 and other greenhouse gases to stop the water from freezing or boiling.
* This begs the question: what happened to it?
* Possibly solar wind stripped away the atmosphere causing the planet to dry up.
* If life on Mars still exists, it is most likely in the form of microbes living a meagre existence beneath the barren soil that Mars is covered in now.
* Could the same thing happen to Earth? What would this look like?
