Part time employment - Work fewer hours per week than someone on full time employment. Works in shifts. e.g. a fast food worker. In the media industry this could be someone such as a runner, or another title of the same status.
Full time employment - Working on a regular basis, around 38 hours per week, employees hours are put in an agreement between the employer and employee through a contract. e.g. A screenwriter working long term for a studio or director.
Fixed-term - Temporary employment where the contract will be terminated at a fixed future date. e.g. editing a one off movie.
Self-employed - Working through freelance, commission or the owner of a business instead of for an employer e.g. a CEO of a business. Editors and directors are often freelance and instead of working full time for one company, clients will come to them and employ them temporarily until the project is done.
Apprenticeship - Earning while you learn. A company employs someone to work for them whilst training them to do the work, in the end the employee/student earns a qualification for the sector they were working in.
